Nothing creates community and confirms compassion like a home-cooked meal. And, after a generous donation of nearly 1,000 unique kitchen supplies from Hommartt’s Vanessa Mwiza, three Southern California nonprofits can help those in need cook a special meal.
Vanessa generously donated two pallets of at-home sushi kits to San Diego’s Kitchens for Good, a nonprofit that transforms lives through the culinary arts and does so with a commitment to sustainability and community. The sushi kits will fit right in with Kitchens for Good’s mission to to provide tuition-free apprenticeship programs to enable “individuals facing barriers to employment gain the skills needed to create sustainable careers.”
The food-centric donation didn’t stop there. LiquiDonate handled the shipping logistics of getting half of a third pallet to LA's Habitat for Humanity ReStore, a nonprofit committed to providing local housing services.
And Vanessa’s donation stretched beyond her home of San Diego. LiquiDonate proudly coordinated the delivery of another half pallet of Vanessa’s custom sushi kits to the Jenesse Center, a nationally recognized nonprofit domestic violence prevention and intervention organization that has served individuals and families in Los Angeles for more than 40 years.
Vanessa’s kind donation on LiquiDonate’s Free Marketplace was one of the most unique kitchen donations we’ve had the pleasure of coordinating to nonprofits in need. With 900+ at-home sushi kits spread across these three nonprofits, we’re delighted to know hundreds of individuals, friends, and families will come together over delicious, home-cooked meals.
